What did you have in labour, or what do you intend to have? Would you have something different a second time around?
I had everything the first time. I started with pethadine on the midwives advice as she said i needed to get some sleep and that would help, then had gas and air a few hours later, then after a long labour and still no progress had an epidural. Good job too, as i ended up having c-sect anyway. With josh, i got to hospital, and was given gas and air imediatly. Shortly after while the midwife started doing the first examination of me i asked for pethadine, and was told no, as i was too far gone. Thought i was gonna kill the poor bloke!
So, i had nothing else as there wasnt time, except a pudendal block for the vontousse.

Well when i had my first son 9 years ago bearing in mind i got to try and remember lol, i went in when i was something like 2cms as i kind of panicked, and 6 hrs down the line i was offered the gas and air but as i was not doing it the correct way they took it off me lol, and i was given a tens machine, which helped tremendously for 5 hrs.
Then after begging them to give me something stronger i was given a good old shot of pethidine which was a relief and i believe my mum who was my birthing partner at the time said i slept like a baby . After 7 hrs later i was wheeled down to the delivery room and more or less was pushing and out popped the head hoooray lol then a few mins later the rest of him came. To my suprise though not realising i pushed when i shouldnt have i actually tore myself completely from front to back oh big ouch. So after giving birth i then had to be wheeled down to theatre and have stitches which resulted in me having to have an epidural, which i was dreading. I wished now i had listened to my mother when she said have an epidural 8 hrs beforehand i refused as was terrified of the thought of a needle in my back. But i found it to be absolutely brilliant. So in a nutshell i more or less had everything they had to offer lol.
With this one i am having i would def opt for pethidine in early stages and then a epi so all hoping to go well willl keep you updated
