I breastfeed - never wanted too tho b4 i was preg!

I then decided id give it ago, it wasnt as easy as i thought tho and it took 4 days till i could breast feed my son, he was fed the breastmilk via a cup till then. The fact i found it hard made me more determined to succeed and im proud to say I DID!

I cant praise BF enough and go to alot of BF groups, know BF councilers and am now training to be a BF mother supporter.

Johnson is almost 5 months old now and i know past the age of 6 months im going to get questions and funny looks - i do now which is sad but its just the way most of society are.

Every time i look at my little man tho and et him weighed i know I DID THAT

Hes 16lb 2oz @ 21wks old and thats just on breast milk so im dead proud of his chunky little thighs and arms lol

Any 1 want to chat or need advise im here, and if i dont know the answer then ill find it out Wink

x

Youve done really well, you must be chuffed.
I breastfed jacob for 4 weeks, but got myself convinced that he wasnt getting anything from me, and i didnt have a lot of milk, so i stopped. In hindsight, i realise that if i hadnt been so young and embarresed, i would have got help, and probebly would have been succesful. With joshua, i was so determined to breasfeed, i went to lots of groups and persevered. At first it was incredibly painful, then i had thrush, then he wasnt gaining weight, so i had to set an alarm to feed him every 2 hours through the night, and he had breastmilk jaundice too, but i ploughed on!
He had nothing but breast milk until he was 16 weeks, then he had 1 or 2 formula bottles a day along with breastmilk until, at 8 months, he self weened. It got to a stage when he just didnt want to any more, and i was only managing to get him to feed once every couple of days, so, we called it a day.
I am so proud that i did it for 8 months though - wish i had made it to a year, but it was his choice to stop.
